Scientists have developed a liquid magnet that can flow and change shape. They believe their findings can completely change fields from medicine to robots. Magnets are at the heart of modern industry and are critical to electronics, motors and many medical devices. All of this, however, is rigid. It is possible to make iron fluid that contains iron particles and reacts to magnets like iron filings- But with the magnetic field removed, they are no longer magnetic. Now, scientists using iron oxide nanoparticles have found that they can produce water droplets, become permanent magnets, and appear to have magnetic properties that have never been seen before. Tom Russell from Beijing University of Chemical Technology \"stumbled upon\" the drops.
