The discovery brings scientists one step closer to predicting a solar explosion that could cause serious damage to the Earth.
Astronomers have long observed huge plasma arches on the surface of the sun.
These structures are called magnetic flux cords, corona rings, and Corona, and have a spiral magnetic field line, just as a giant bar magnet is twisted into a spiral.
A large amount of current usually passes through the core of these tubes.

Two models involving magnetic flux ropes have emerged.
In the first model, there is a magnetic flux rope before the outbreak.
